Who we are

The BGS (Black Girl STEM) Network is Reach for STEM’s mentorship scheme for black females formed to help bridge the gap between black females and STEM through the provision of guidance, mentorship and access to resources and opportunities for black females worldwide to enable them navigate and excel in STEM-related careers.

Black females still form a small percentage of the STEM workforce globally. We believe that having fewer black females in STEM means that the world is missing out on the potential they carry and the immense contribution they could add to solving STEM-related issues. A lot of black females in STEM do not have access to proper guidance and resources and the BGS network has been created to provide these.
